Wayne Gallman fantasy waiver wire advice, Week 11: Giants RB worth consideration moving forward - DraftKings Nation

This season, the New York Giants’ running back room has been a revolving door. To begin the year, they had superstar running back Saquon Barkley. However, they only had Barkley for about a game and a half as lost him to a season-ending knee injury.

After Barkley went down, the Giants went ahead and signed free agent Devonta Freeman. Freeman played in the next five games, where he recorded 172 rushing yards on 54 carries and a touchdown. But in Week 6, the 28-year-old running back suffered an ankle injury, placing him on injured reserve.

Therefore, without Barkley and Freeman, someone had to step up in the backfield for New York. That person was Wayne Gallman Jr., who has been running the football with toughness and scored a touchdown in four-straight games for the Giants.

On Sunday, the former Clemson standout had a solid performance in the Giants’ 27-17 win over the Eagles. Gallman had 53 yards for 18 carries and two touchdowns. While his yards per carry average was not impressive (2.9), fantasy football managers will be enamored with the two touchdowns.

Since replacing the injured Freeman in Week 6, Gallman has 199 yards on 54 carries and five touchdowns. He’s also averaging 12.4 fantasy points over that same time, which is what you want to see from a prospective waiver wire addition. Going forward, we can expect Gallman to have similar success with New York’s next two games against the Bengals and Seahawks. The 26-year-old running back is currently rostered in 44-percent of Yahoo fantasy leagues.

Up next — Bengals, Seahawks, Cardinals, Browns
