The two men noticed the officers and ran in different directions.

The second suspect, Jaime Jacoby, was found hiding in a dumpster near Industrial and Wyoming.

Both originally denied any wrongdoing, but the police report says Fusion Watch Center cameras caught them both in the act.

Jacoby ended up telling police he has been homeless for 4 years and has been stealing copper to get money.

Jacoby told police that John would give him information on where to find the wire and that he would pawn the wire at S&A near Western Avenue and Oakey Boulevard.

The cost to replace the wire has been estimated at more than $250.
