10. Aaron Jones’ rank for rushing yards

The former UTEP Miner has churned 389 rushing yards on the season, the 10th-most in the league. Jones also averages 5.2 yards per carry. Going against the Texans makes it a ripe week for Jones to get back on track.

9. Houston’s rank for sacks

The Texans defense has quietly been getting great at something, and that is sacks. Houston has generated 16 sacks on the year, tied with Washington for the ninth-most in the league. If they can pressure Rodgers, it may be their only shot to unraveling their offense.

8. Aaron Rodgers’ rank for yards per completion

Rodgers averages 12.1 yards per completion, the eighth-most in the NFL. Houston is facing a big-play offense. If they can’t stop it, the job will be on the offense to at least match them in production.

7. Green Bay’s defensive rank for yards per attempt

The Packers have given up 7.7 yards per pass attempt, tied for the seventh-highest in the league. This stat should favor the Texans’ deep passing game. Interestingly, one of the four other teams Green Bay is tied with happens to be the Texans.

6. Jordan Akins’ yards per target

Why is an injured tight end showing up in the countdown? Akins averages 11.2 yards per target, the sixth-most in the league. The Texans will have to find a way to replicate this production. In a way, they have with Will Fuller at 11.1 yards per target.

5. Houston’s wins in their color rush jerseys

The Texans are 5-0 in their deep steel blue color rush jerseys, which are almost emblematic of the Deshaun Watson era. Recall Houston beat the New England Patriots in these same uniforms last season.

4. Deshaun Watson’s rank for sacks

Watson has done a great job of avoiding pressure, and the offensive line has also protected him nicely. With 19 sacks on the season, Watson is fourth in most sacks in the league. If he can keep it at 19 or even take one, the Texans’ signal caller should have enough opportunities to ignite their big-play offense.

3. Deshaun Watson’s rank for passing yards

Watson has been slinging it the past three weeks with 300-plus yard passing games in as many outings. With 1,786 yards on the season, Houston will need Watson to crest the 2,000 in Week 7 if they hope to keep pace with the Packers offense.

2. The Texans’ rank for opposing passer rating

This stat may be worse than the rushing stat, especially since they are facing an elite quarterback. Opposing quarterbacks have compiled an 111.5 passer rating against the Texans, the second-highest in the NFL. If Aaron Rodgers goes over that, it’s curtains.

1. Houston’s rank for run defense

Either way you slice it, whether by yards per carry (5.4) or rushing yards per game (177.5), the Texans are the worst in the NFL. The narrative has to change starting with the Packers.
