This week's game between the Tennessee Titans and Pittsburgh Steelers has been postponed due to an outbreak of Covid19 cases within the Titans organization. The concept of a few teams not playing in a given week is nothing new to fantasy owners — NFL teams have bye weeks during much of the fantasy season. But this week's cancellation is hitting fantasy managers on short notice.
Ideally, there's a replacement on fantasy managers' rosters for any Titans or Steelers. For those who find themselves in a crunch, we're here to help.
The following players are solid options for Week 4 — this isn't a recommendation that they'll necessarily be worth holding onto after that. Outside of quarterback, the first player listed at each position is available in at least 50% of leagues at Yahoo. The second player listed is available in at least 80%.
QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, Miami Dolphins
Fitzpatrick is rostered in just 14% of Yahoo leagues, but he's the best option among all of the quarterbacks available in at least 50%. Fitzpatrick had a slow start to the season in Week 1, but over the last two weeks he’s been QB9. There has been a general concern about Fitzpatrick losing his job to rookie first rounder Tua Tagovailoa, but it’s unlikely for Tagovailoa to see any playing time this week. He has been dealing with an illness and hasn’t been practicing.
Fitzpatrick is facing facing the Seattle Seahawks, who have given up 28.6 fantasy points per game to quarterbacks, which is second-most in the league. Part of the reason the Seahawks' secondary has given up so much production is that they’ve been thrown at 155 times — by far the most. The Dolphins, like most teams, will need to pass a lot to keep up with Russell Wilson’s offense. The Seahawks' team coverage grade is a little below average, so Fitzpatrick should also be able to take advantage of them. The combination of quantity and quality make him a solid one-week option at quarterback.
