The Falcons and Vikings are off to pretty bad starts to the 2020 NFL season.

After Atlanta lost its game to Carolina dropping them to 0-5, the team fired head coach Dan Quinn. Now, the Falcons will look to get a bounce with Raheem Morris as the interim coach.

Morris’ first task as coach of the Falcons? Going up against a Vikings team that is also struggling.

Minnesota has started off 1-4 in 2020. The Vikings played a very close contest against the Seahawks, but a late, game-winning drive by Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson was enough to help the Seahawks survive on Sunday night.

Here is Vikings Wire’s staff predictions for the Falcons-Vikings game:

This is not the Vikings’ year, but they can win against a struggling opponent. The Falcons offense will move the chains with ease, but it won’t be enough to stop Minnesota from controlling the game. Vikings 31, Falcons 24.

The Vikings should have beaten the Seahawks. We’re just going to pretend that game never happened. The Falcons have a new head coach and have yet to win a game this season. There’s a world in which the Falcons score 50 points with all of their offensive talent. But I think the Vikings’ offense lights it up and the defense continues the improvement we’ve seen this season. Vikings 37, Falcons 20

The Vikings are coming off yet another disappointing loss in Seattle. They seemed to have the game in control but the MVP frontrunner Russell Wilson had other plans. This week the Vikings bounce back against the Falcons, who just fired their head coach and GM due to an 0-5 start. The Vikings will likely be without Dalvin Cook, but we saw last week that the team can rely heavily on Alexander Mattison. Expect the Vikings passing game to be strong this week as the Falcons are near the bottom of the league in terms of passing yards allowed per game. Vikings 34, Falcons 24

The Falcons were embarrassed by the Vikings in Week 1 last season and couldn’t match Minnesota’s physicality. I don’t think either team is going anywhere this season, but I expect the Falcons to get some revenge for last year’s matchup this time around. With Dan Quinn out of the picture, players know they could be next in line to lose their jobs if they don’t perform over the final 11 weeks. For that reason, I think Atlanta comes out strong and barely holds to get the team’s first win of the season. Falcons 31, Vikings 27.
