The tight end position can be a tough one for finding value once you’ve gotten through the top ten players. After that, it’s a scramble for a breakout candidate as the season moves along. Snap counts become the place to scratch and claw for options on the weekly fantasy football waiver wire.
Seattle Seahawks tight end Will Dissly is a player to consider in deeper leagues coming out of Week 8. He only had one reception for 17 yards, but he led the Seahawks with 43 snaps. Greg Olsen followed with 37 snaps and Jacob Hollister had 26 snaps. Olsen had the most targets among Seahawks tight ends with four, but finished with zero catches. Hollister had one catch on two targets for six yards.
None of these three are great options in traditional 12- or even 14-team leagues, but for deeper rosters, Dissly is worth a look. Prior to a torn Achilles in 2019, Dissly was starting to break out with a five-game stretch that saw him surpass 50 yards receiving in each game and catch four touchdowns over three of those games. It’s a ways to go, but he’s worth having on your waiver wire radar.
