A few key starters have suffered injuries In Week 9 that could keep them out for at least a game. Their absences could change the fantasy football landscape significantly in Week 10 and we’ve identified some players you should keep an eye on when evaluating who the top waiver wire targets should be for next week,

Allen suffered a leg injury against the New York Giants that will likely end his season. Alex Smith’s number was called after the second-year signal caller left the game. Smith threw for 325 yards after coming on as a replacement and nearly helped lead Washington to a comeback win. The veteran could inject some life into Washington’s offense if given more snaps.

Johnson exited Sunday’s game early after taking a big first quarter hit against the Jacksonville Jaguars while trying to haul in a catch. He’ll likely be in concussion protocol ahead of his team’s Week 10 matchup with the Cleveland Browns. Duke Johnson could benefit from the all-purpose back missing time and filled in effectively as the lead back in Week 9.

Montgomery was evaluated for a concussion in Week 9 and also appeared to be favoring his shoulder against the Tennessee Titans. Chicago doesn’t have a legitimate backup and Cordarrelle Patterson isn’t suited to be a full-time replacement. The Bears could have to get creative without Mongtomery in Week 10 if he’s ruled out.

McCaffrey returned from an ankle injury, and appeared to injure his shoulder late in the game. Head coach Matt Rhule had nothing to say about the injury, but will meet again with the media on media. It’s safe to say we’ll get some kind of heads-up. Mike Davis would move back into the starting lineup if CMC had to miss any further time.

WR Preston Williams, Miami Dolphins

Williams was carted off with what was later described as a sprained foot. He led the team with four receptions for 60 yards and a touchdown at the time of the injury. DeVante Parker is already rostered in most leagues, but backup Jakeem Grant saw more targets with Williams out. Grant has some deeper league value.

Jacksonville’s favorite gadget player tweaked his hamstring. No one receiver has blown away the rest this year but Keelan Cole and D.J. Chark could get more action if the rookie misses time. Chark has flown under the radar because of injuries but posted his best stat line of the season against the Houston Texans in Week 9.

Doyle’s concussion won’t deal a critical blow to the colts but it could help Mo Alie-Cox or Trey Burton get spikes in production. Indianapolis uses a plethora of tight ends and having one fewer option makes it easier to guess who will score big.
