The Kansas City Chiefs are getting ready to face the Las Vegas Raiders at Allegiant Stadium in Week 11. This is shaping up to be a heated rivalry game under the bright lights of “Sunday Night Football.”
To learn more about Kansas City’s opponent, we spoke with managing editor Marcus Mosher over at Raiders Wire and asked him a few questions.
Chiefs Wire: The Raiders placed a bunch of players on the reserve/COVID-19 list this week. What is your level of concern about the possibility of those players missing most or all of the practice week and maybe even the game?

Marcus Mosher: Unfortunately, the Raiders have far too much experience going through his COVID-19 routine. I don’t believe any of those seven defensive starters, except for Clelin Ferrell, should miss this game. But how will they perform without a week of practice? It’s tough to say, because how do you practice for Patrick Mahomes? This could be a sloppy week from the Raiders on defense, but this wasn’t a good defense to begin with.
Chiefs Wire: If Las Vegas wins in Week 11 do you anticipate they’ll be able to keep winning games and potentially force the tiebreaker to come into play for the AFC West?

Marcus Mosher:If the Raiders win this game, I think they can steal the AFC West. Their schedule is incredibly soft the rest of the way and a sweep of the Chiefs would indicate that they are one of the best teams in the NFL. They already have a number of quality wins against big-time opponents and this would only validate everything they have done this season.
Chiefs Wire: Conversely, if the Raiders lose in Week 11 how does the outlook of their 2020 season change? Do you think they’d still be able to lock up a wild card spot?

Marcus Mosher: If they were to lose, it shouldn’t derail their season too much. They would still need to go on a bit of a run to secure a Wild Card spot considering the depth of the AFC, but they shouldn’t have any problem locking down a playoff spot. Again, their schedule only gets easier after Week 11 and they should be able to pull off a three or four-game winning streak starting in Week 12.
Chiefs Wire: Are there any key players that didn’t play against the Chiefs in Week 5 who are set to play in Week 11?

Marcus Mosher: First-round pick Damon Arnette is set to play in Week 11 and that gives the Raiders far more depth in the secondary. While he has had his struggles, his size and speed on the outside allow for the Raiders to be far more aggressive on defense. It will be fascinating to see how he matches up with the likes of Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins, but the Raiders are really happy that he is back on the field and paired with Trayvon Mullen.
Chiefs Wire: What’s your prediction for how this game plays out?
Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports
Marcus Mosher: It’s just hard for me to fathom that Jon Gruden will be able to upset and sweep the Chiefs this season. While the Raiders are an improved team, it feels like there is still a bit of a gap between them and Kansas City. I expect Patrick Mahomes to come out firing and score 30-plus points against this defense. Look for the Raiders to keep this close for a few quarters with their run game, but for the Chiefs to ultimately win by double-digits.
