Usually, I’m going to be giving you a waiver wire piece every Thursday of the NBA season. But given how the schedule started off, you are getting a Christmas gift.

A waiver wire piece on Christmas Day.

HUGE: Stunning truth behind Aussie's $2.2 billion NBA deal

I’ll be looking at guys who are rostered in 50% or fewer Yahoo leagues who probably should be on a roster in your league.

Mason Plumlee

The Pistons starting centre is criminally under rostered.

Against the Wolves on Thursday, Plumlee was looking strong, scoring 32.6 fantasy points, and I see no reason he can’t perform close to that level most nights.

I don’t see Jahlil Okafor taking his job and Isaiah Stewart isn’t ready, if he ever will be, to be a starting centre, so this is Plumlee’s job for the foreseeable future.

Additionally, in a standard points league Plumlee’s poor free-throw shooting isn’t a concern.

Darius Bazley

I have been talking about Bazley as a breakout player for ages.

But not enough people are paying attention. He is rostered in just 33% of leagues and is a starter on the Thunder.

He didn’t play today because the Thunder game was postponed due to the Rockets’ COVID issues, but that doesn’t make Bazley less appealing. I would grab him, sooner rather than later.

Darius Garland

It was rough for Garland as a rookie, but a more settled second season seemed likely.

It was only against the Hornets, but he looked great out there and is available in quite a few Yahoo leagues.

After he scored 39.2 fantasy points in game one, I would look at him as an add option in my league.

Ivica Zubac

It was very interesting to see Zubac fill the Montrezl Harrell role from last season - the centre who comes off the bench but plays more minutes.

Zubac looked great, playing more minutes than Serge Ibaka and if this sort of rotation pattern continues from Ty Lue, Zubac is a guy who could sniff the top 100.

He dropped almost 25 points in 27 minutes against the Lakers and he could’ve been a lot of better. I like him as an add.

Alec Burks

Yes, Burks came off the bench in his first game for the Knicks, but he was able to light it up and it doesn’t bother me if he remains in the bench lineup.

He can score, he can shoot and he is better than Reggie Bullock and the Knicks that sort of scoring prowess.

I wouldn’t leave him on the wire after he scored 36.3 fantasy points against the Pacers.
