We’ve been keeping out eyes on a few wide receivers who have either exceeded expectations or flown under the radar for the first six weeks of the 2020 season, and some of them are optimal waiver wire targets ahead of Week 7. We’ve identified some pass catchers who are under 50 percent owned in Yahoo leagues and are worth picking up in season-long fantasy.
Fulgham has been Philly’s most dynamic receiving threat for three weeks now and has amassed at least 10 targets in two straight games. His six catches for 75 yards against the Ravens in Week 6 made me a believer. DeSean Jackson is set to return in Week 7, but Zach Ertz is expected to miss a couple weeks with a knee injury. Fulgham should continue to be heavily featured because of the Eagles’ banged up receiving corps.
Cole has performed better than D.J. Chark Jr. this season. He leads Jacksonville in receptions (27), targets (38), receiving yards (362) and is tied for e team lead in receiving touchdowns (3). Gardner Minshew II ranks third in passing attempts (240) and so his favorite target should get plenty of opportunities.
Higgins doesn’t quite make the cut when it comes to the ownership requirement, but I’ll cut him some slack. He’s outshined A.J. Green so far this year and is gaining the trust of Joe Burrow. Higgins stands out as Cincinnati’s best downfield threat with his team-high 15.4 points per game. He logged a career-high 125 receiving yards on six catches in Week 6 and more touchdowns are in his future.
Humphries has quietly flown under the radar in Tennessee and is one of Ryan Tannehill’s most consistent targets. He has an 80 percent catch rate and is only second to Jonnu Smith in targets with 26 on the year. He has two touchdowns in four games. While he might not look like most fantasy starters, he can give you an edge in deeper leagues.
Claypool has led the Steelers in receiving yards for two straight Weeks and has come into his own since Diontae Johnson went down with a back injury in Week 5. He leads Pittsburgh in receiving yards (335) and total touchdowns (5). JuJu Smith-Schuster has been underwhelming and Claypool is picking up the slack.
Patrick surprisingly leads the Broncos in receptions (20) and receiving yards (310) this season and has benefitted from the injuries running rampant in the receiving corps. He’s notched two straight 100-yard games. Drew Lock is back but Noah Fant is fighting to return from injury after sitting out for Week 6. Patrick could continue to carry a heavy load if the Broncos remain short on quality pass catchers.
Pascal was overshadowed by Marcus Johnson’s monster 100-yard game against the Bengals but remains second to T.Y. Hilton in targets (28) and receiving yards (198). Only Mo Alie-Cox can match Pascal’s two touchdowns catches this year. It’s too early to crown Johnson as the next best thing, but Pascal could emerge as Indianapolis’ most productive receiver if Hilton continues to struggle.
