Colts’ Fantasy Waiver Wire: Week 9 - Stampede Blue

Carson Wentz, QB, Colts. On 35%> of rosters.

The thing with Wentz now is the volume he gets every game. Despite the Colts having one of the best running backs in Jonathan Taylor, and viable options in Nyheim Hines and Marlon Mack, head coach Frank Reich just plainly refuses to prioritize the run game. Wentz will make plenty of mistakes, but his volume of pass attempts and his chemistry with Michael Pittman Jr. makes him an enticing fantasy quarterback.

It is also worth noting that the Colts really like to pass inside the opponent’s five-yard line. The injury to T.Y. Hilton is definitely worth keeping an eye on though, as backups Zach Pascal/Ashton Dulin have not been solid as of late. Over the past 3 weeks, Wentz is 11-24 for 64 yards and 0 touchdowns when targeting either Pascal or Dulin.

Jeremy McNichols, RB, Titans. On 5%> of rosters.

Most likely your entire league has already put on a claim for Jeremy McNichols, especially if it is PPR. With Derrick Henry out for the year, the Titans will probably split the backfield touches between McNichols and newly acquired Adrian Peterson. There is no telling how good Peterson will be, but he got 7 touchdowns with the Lions last season and could get some touches in the RedZone. With Henry out, the Titans will need to readjust their entire offense, and Tannehill will not have the luxury of passing against 8-man fronts. Perhaps this new context will mean plenty of check-down passes to McNichols.

Taysom Hill, QB, New Orleans Saints. On 1%> of rosters.

While he has not been practicing since suffering a concussion in Week 5, Jameis Winston’s season-ending injury means that Taysom Hill is now New Orleans’ starter. Hill offers some intriguing fantasy value, as his potential as a runner and touchdowns on the ground could give him some explosive scoring. If he fully recovers from his concussion and is ready to play, keep him on the bench just in case he starts showing how good he can be.

Devante Parker, WR, Dolphins. On >55% of rosters.

Parker is available on most leagues after he suffered an injury in Week 4 that kept him out 3 games. Now with Tua Tagovaloia back in at quarterback, Parker offers some solid value based on volume alone. In the five games he played this year, Parker averaged 8.6 targets per game and is fresh of a double-digit target share against the Bills.
