The New York Giants, barring any unforeseen changes, will enter the offseason with needs along the offensive line, at linebacker and along the edge.

They could also use a little added depth at cornerback and perhaps a two-way tight end. Some would even argue a quarterback, but that’s a debate for another day.

In the latest 2022 NFL mock draft from our friend Luke Easterling at Draft Wire, the Giants do a good job addressing most of the above needs over the first three rounds.

Round 1 (No. 6): North Carolina, OT, Ikem Ekwonu

Rob Kinnan-USA TODAY Sports

Ikem Ekwonu is a name we’ve seen mocked to the Giants several times already.

Having Saquon Barkley in the backfield is great, but he could use some help up front, and Ekwonu has been an all-conference pick at both guard and tackle.

Round 1 (No. 8): Iowa, OL, Tyler Linderbaum

Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

Tyler Linderbaum is another name we’ve frequently seen mocked to the Giants.

Double-dipping on offensive linemen in the top 10 would raise some eyebrows, but the Giants need that kind of talent infusion up front, and Linderbaum is absolutely worth this pick.

Round 2 (No. 41): Alabama, LB, Christian Harris

Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Christian Harris isn’t a sack machine but that wouldn’t be the point of this pick. He’s a very sound linebacker and a potential Day 1 starter coming in the second round.

Round 3 (No. 69): Mississippi State, CB, Martin Emerson Jr.

Katie Stratman-USA TODAY Sports

Martin Emerson Jr. is the sort of depth cornerback we talked about earlier on. He comes from a strong SEC school and there’s a lot to work with here.

Round 3 (No. 72): Auburn, EDGE, Derick Hall

Douglas DeFelice-USA TODAY Sports

Derick Hall isn’t the top-end edge rusher the Giants need but he’d be a quality addition in Round 3. He has 13 tackles for a loss and 9.0 sack over the course of his 25-game career.
