An electric wire fell into a tree Wednesday morning causing Route 611 to be closed in Forks Township, authorities report.
The two-lane highway along the Delaware River was shut between Frost Hollow and Frutchey Hill roads, A Northampton County dispatch supervisor said.
The incident was reported about 6:15 a.m., the supervisor said.
Smoke was rising from the tree and Met-Ed was dispatched, the supervisor said. Fewer than five customers were in the dark in Forks Township, Met-Ed’s outage site said.
