Fantasy football waiver wire advice, Week 13: Best available RBs include Latavius Murray, Cam Akers, and Fran… - DraftKings Nation

There are a few running backs widely available that either have good matchups heading into Week 13, or had successful Week 12 performances, or could benefit from an injury. With that in mind, here are five running backs with under 50% ownership in traditional fantasy football leagues that managers can consider picking up for Week 13.

Week 13 byes: Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Carolina Panthers

Ronald Jones, Leonard Fournette, and Mike Davis will not be available.

Latavius Murray, 49ers (60 percent)

Next up — @ATL, @PHI, KC, MIN

Murray isn’t quite at 50 percent rostership, but we’ll give him a break here. Starting Taysom Hill seems to have eliminated the Saints’ need for Alvin Kamara. Murray has been more productive than the RB1 in two straight games while splitting snaps down the middle. His season-high 19 carries for 124 yards and two scores against the Denver Broncos in Week 12 speaks to his potential, and New Orleans will face a couple poor run defenses in the coming weeks. Three more weeks of Hill under center could mean three more weeks of Murray dominance.

Frank Gore, Jets (25 percent)

Next up — LV, @SEA, @LAR, CLE

Gore didn’t find the end zone in Week 12 but did rush for a season-high 74 yards on 18 carries. He also caught three passes for 12 yards. New York’s horrendous offense remains the lowest-scoring unit in the NFL but Gore has a consistent path to double-digit touches.

Cam Akers, Rams (29 percent)

Next up — @ARI, NE, NYJ, @SEA

Akers is coming off his best performance of the year and rushed for 84 yards and a score on nine carries against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 12. While he played fewer snaps than Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown in his last outing, there’s no clear feature back in Los Angeles. If Akers can gain momentum from his latest performance he could earn a larger role in the offense down the stretch.

Benny Snell, Steelers (33 percent)

Next up — WSH, @BUF, @CIN, IND

Snell has scored three touchdowns in his last five games despite playing behind James Conner. While Snell doesn’t get a ton of touches, Pittsburgh trusts him near the goal line and he’ll get a chance to show people what he can do as the top option against the Baltimore Ravens this week, as Conner has been ruled out after testing positive for Covid-19.

Royce Freeman, Broncos (6 percent)

Next up — @KC, @CAR, BUF, @LAC

Freeman led Denver with 50 rushing yards on eight carries in Week 12 despite playing fewer snaps than Melvin Gordon and Phillip Lindsay. Lindsay is expected to miss some time with a knee injury he suffered on Sunday, so Freeman is in position to have a larger role in Week 13. Freeman hasn’t reached the end zone this season but his floor will be raised by the absence of Lindsay.
