Angling Direct PLC said on Monday that it is managing a cyber security incident after detecting unauthorized activity on its network late Friday.
The U.K. fishing-tackle retailer said that the incident shut down its websites and that these are still down. The attack also compromised some of the company's social media accounts, it said.
"The board has appointed external cyber security specialists whose investigations are underway to establish what happened. Work continues round the clock to bring the websites back online while our 39 retail stores across the U.K. have remained open and continue to trade," the company said.
Angling Direct said that it doesn't expect the incident to have any major impact on underlying trading but continues to assess any cost exposure.
