10. Rams' rank for pressures

Danielle Parhizkaran/NorthJersey.com-USA TODAY NETWORK

Los Angeles’ defense has generated 74 pressures, the 10th-most in the NFL. The Rams are going to get after the quarterback, which means the offensive line, if they can’t find a way to pass-block for Davis Mills, needs to clear running lanes for the backs.

The Texans are actually tied for the 10th-most takeaways in the NFL with nine. Houston has to find a way to keep the takeaway training rolling if they are to have a chance against the Rams’ potent offense.

8. Darrell Henderson's first downs by rush on first down

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

The Rams running back has generated eight first downs when he has been given the ball on first down, tied for the eighth-most in the league. The Texans have to shut down Henderson and not let him get going. The key will be to making Los Angeles one-dimensional.

7. Davis Mills' rank for sack percentage

The third-rounder is getting sacked on 8.1% of his dropbacks, which is the seventh-highest in the NFL. The Texans have to find a way to keep Mills clean, whether that is getting rid of the ball quickly or finally getting the run game going.

6. Jonathan Greenard's sacks

Michael Chow/The Republic-USA TODAY NETWORK

The former 2020 third-round pick from Florida has become the Texans’ leading sacker with 6.0, which is also tied for the seventh-most in the NFL. Houston may have found its war daddy to get after quarterbacks. Greenard will need to have a big game again, possibly with a forced fumble, to give Houston a shot.

5. Aaron Donald's tackles for loss

Joe Nicholson-USA TODAY Sports

Donald isn’t having the season yet that could end up with his fourth NFL Defensive Player of the Year. However, he could boost those numbers against Houston’s interior offensive line. Donald’s presence will be felt in some way: either with actual tackles for loss or penalties drawn.

4. Houston's average yards gained on first down

The Texans can blame penalties all they want, but the fact is they only gain 4.1 yards per first down play, ranking second-fewest in the NFL. Compare that with a team the Texans have seen in the Buffalo Bills. They are tied for second-best in the league at 6.4 yards on first down. If Houston is have a chance at all, they need to gain above their 4.1 average on first down.

3. Rams' rank for opposing passer rating

Opposing quarterbacks have put together an 80.4 passer rating, the third-lowest in the NFL. Offensive coordinator Tim Kelly will have to put his rookie quarterback in situations that allow him to make the best decision and not give Los Angeles’ defense a chance to create a negative play.

2. Texans' rank for missed tackles

The Texans rank second in the NFL with 57 missed tackles. Houston will need to keep the cup and rush to the football and not allow ball carriers to get extra yards after contact.

1. Matthew Stafford's passer rating rank

Stafford’s passer rating is 116.7, which is the highest in the NFL among quarterbacks who have started every game. The former Detroit Lion is going to be the only maestro on the field at NRG Stadium. Houston’s only chance is to make him rewind back to his Detroit days — specifically Thanksgiving 2020.
