CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) - Wyoming Direct support professionals were honored at banquet and awards ceremony this week. The executive director of Wyoming Community Service Providers said it was rewarding to show these employees they are valued.

“Direct support professionals are the key to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in living a quality life,” said Jeff Gardner the WCSP executive director.

Direct support professionals help these people with community involvement and building relationships. They also help with daily tasks like cleaning and grocery shopping. No day is the same for these professionals and gander is excited to be able to recognize the best of the best for their work.

“It’s a hard yet rewarding job, but [we know] it’s hard and we are glad to be able to recognize that,” Gardner said.

Gardner adds this is the 3rd annual banquet.
