Buffaloes Wire joined the College Wire network a few weeks ago. We’re glad to have even more coverage of the Pac-12, and we have a website to collaborate with in team coverage of the Colorado-USC game this Saturday.

I had the chance to talk to @BuffaloesWire editor @Jack_Carlough about the Buffs and their (lack of) progress in 2021, plus the key matchups and storylines in the Colorado-USC contest.

You know that Colorado has had a hard time scoring this year. The Buffs went eight straight quarters without scoring a point earlier this season and nine straight quarters without scoring a touchdown.

Yes, it’s that bad in Boulder. Yet, what does it say about the state of the USC program that the Trojans were just a seven-point favorite over the Buffs in the early betting lines presented for this game?

Jack Carlough went into a lot of the positional uncertainties on the Colorado roster. The Buffs have some key players returning but are still missing some of the pieces they had counted on before the season began. Crucially, some players the Buffs were optimistic about in August have not played well in the first month of the season. CU is hoping those players come alive against USC.

Here is my conversation with Jack, just under half an hour of USC-Colorado talk. (We wouldn’t make you suffer through a full hour on this game, believe me!)

Follow Jack and the team at Buffaloes Wire for complete CU sports coverage. Remember that basketball is just around the corner. Buffaloes Wire will be a great resource for reading up on Tad Boyle’s group.
