4:45 PM: The Browns added some insurance at the kicking position by signing Chris Naggar to the practice squad.

Naggar was signed by the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent out of SMU following the 2021 NFL Draft. He kicked at Texas from 2016 to 2019 before transferring to SMU for his final redshirt senior season.

At SMU he made 17-of-21 fields goals and 43-of-46 extra points on his way to being named the AAC Special Teams Player of the Year.

In an interesting twist, the Jets released current Browns kicker Chase McLaughlin so that they could sign Naggar.

3:23 PM: The Browns added another offensive lineman to the practice squad with the signing of Jordan Steckler, according to his agent, Brett Tessler.

The 6-foot-5 and 305-pound Steckler was originally signed as an undrafted free agent by the New Orleans Saints in 2020. He did not stick with the Saints but did spend the second half of the season on the New England Patriots practice squad. He started 43 games at Northern Illinois University and was a consensus first-team All-MAC selection as a senior.

Thursday @ 1:30 PM: The Browns added two more players to the practice squad on Thursday as they have signed cornerback Tim Harris and offensive guard David Moore.

The 6-foot-2 and 197-pound Harris was a sixth-round selection in the 2019 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers. He spent his rookie season on injured reserve and most of the 2020 season on San Francisco’s practice squad. He played 18 snaps on special teams in two games with the 49ers last season.

The 6-foot-2 and 320-pound Moore was originally signed by the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent out of Grambling State. Despite missing the 2020 season after Grambling State’s games were canceled due to COVID-19, Moore was named the top offensive lineman on the American team at this year’s Senior Bowl.

Today’s signing bring Cleveland’s practice squad to 13 players, with three spots remaining.

2:30 PM: The Browns have officially announced that they have signed 11 players to the practice squad, with 10 of the players having spent training camp and the preseason with the club.

Cleveland still has five spots on the practice squad that they can fill.

On offense, the Browns signed wide receivers Ja’Marcus Bradley and JoJo Natson, tight end Jordan Franks, running back John Kelly, fullback Johnny Stanton and quarterback Nick Mullens.

On defense, the Browns signed defensive tackle Sheldon Day, defensive ends Porter Gustin and Curtis Weaver, linebacker Elijah Lee and safety Jovante Moffatt.

The lone newcomer in the group is Mullens, who spent training camp and the preseason with the Philadelphia Eagles. He spent three seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, playing in 19 games, with 16 starts, completing 64.5 percent of his passes for 4,714 yards, 25 touchdowns and 22 interceptions.

1:24 PM: The Browns are signing wide receiver Ja’Marcus Bradley to the practice squad, according to ESPN’s Jake Trotter.

1:23 PM: The Philadelphia Eagles are reportedly signing defensive tackle Marvin Wilson to their practice squad, according to NBC Philadelphia’s John Clark. Wilson drew a lot of attention after the Browns outbid the rest of the league to sign him as an undrafted free agent this spring, but it did not pan out with the Browns.

1:14 PM: The Browns are bringing back defensive end Curtis Weaver via the practice squad, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo. Weaver spent last season on injured reserve with the Browns.

1:05 PM: Former Browns S Sheldrick Redwine is headed to the New York Jets, as he will sign to their 53-man roster:

12:58 PM: At least one receiver is coming back to the Browns’ practice squad: JoJo Natson. Also, one little note, Nate Ulrich says that as of this post, while FB Johnny Stanton has been offered a spot on the practice squad, he hasn’t signed yet.

12:57 PM: Per Brad Stainbrook of The OBR, former Browns WR KhaDarel Hodge will be headed to the Detroit Lions.

12:55 PM: The Atlanta Falcons have claimed former Browns OG Colby Gossett:

12:53 PM: The Browns are putting together their 16-man practice squad, and so far we’ve heard about four players: FB Johnny Stanton, TE Jordan Franks, DE Porter Gustin, and LB Elijah Lee.
