Voting is now open for the Private Equity Wire US Awards 2021, which will be unveiled and celebrated at an exclusive presentation ceremony and industry networking event to be held at The University Club of New York on Wednesday, 20 October 2021.
The annual Private Equity Wire US Awards – hosted by Private Equity Wire, with GP data being provided in partnership with Bloomberg – recognise and honour excellence among private equity managers and service providers in the US across a wide range of categories.
The GP categories, for fund performance and fundraising success, cover a wide spectrum of private market strategies and asset classes – including Buyout, Growth, Venture, Fund of Funds, Secondaries, Co-Investment, Debt, Real Estate, and Real Assets – while the service provider categories span all the principal areas of the broader US private equity ecosystem.
The awards follow a clear and transparent methodology. For the GP categories, the shortlists are based on data provided by Bloomberg – with the candidates for performance selected on the basis of the net IRRs of funds across multiple vintages in each category, and the nominees for fundraising selected on the basis of assets raised for 2019, 2020 and 2021 vintage funds.
More than 100 different GPs have been shortlisted across the 27 manager award categories this year, reflecting the ever-increasing diversity and depth of the private equity and venture capital fund manager universe in the US.
For the service provider categories, the nominations are based on a widespread pre-poll survey of more than 100 GPs and other key industry participants.
Voting for the eventual winners is being conducted over the next several weeks via an online poll of the extensive Private Equity Wire readership, with participants invited to make their choices among the pre-selected firms in each category.
All winners are invited to attend an exclusive ceremony and networking event on Wednesday 20 October 2021 at The University Club of New York at 17.00 EST. The results of the awards will also be covered – along with winners’ profiles – in a Private Equity Wire US Awards Special Report to be distributed globally.
Voted for by participants within the industry itself, the awards are a mark of recognition and respect among peers, investors, advisors and counterparties – highlighting the achievements and successes of leaders and innovators in a dynamic and intensely competitive industry.
