The Rams are seeking their third straight 2-0 start this weekend when they visit the Eagles on Sunday afternoon. They opened with a 20-17 win over the Cowboys, but they’ll now face a much healthier Eagles team than the one that lost to Washington in Week 1.

Leading up to the game, we asked Rams fans for questions about the roster and the upcoming matchup. We’re answering the best ones below, including questions about the linebacker group, Cooper Kupp returning punts and Taylor Rapp’s role.

Plan vs. Eagles' TEs?

I would think the Rams will rely more on their safeties to cover the Eagles’ two tight ends than their linebackers. Expecting Micah Kiser and Kenny Young to cover Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert would be a big risk, given how reliant Carson Wentz is on his tight ends.

While Jalen Ramsey is an option, I’d expect him to be used more on the wide receivers because of his speed. This is an important game for John Johnson, Taylor Rapp and Jordan Fuller.

Goff's field vision a concern?

I wouldn’t be concerned about that. Would it have been nice for him to at least look up at Cooper Kupp? Absolutely. However, he made a good decision to take the free yardage and pick up 4 yards.

That being said, Sean McVay is right: That’s a throw Goff can make and one he expects him to attempt. It’s not a concern, but it is a play he probably wishes he could have back.

Where was Troy Reeder?

I thought Reeder would’ve at least played some last week, but clearly the coaching staff prefers Kenny Young and even Justin Hollins to him at inside linebacker.

Reeder was subpar in coverage last season and missed too many tackles, which was an issue for the Rams in Week 1. The Cowboys ran a lot of three-receiver sets which forced the Rams into nickel packages, thus taking a linebacker off the field often.

As it stands now, Reeder is the Rams’ fourth-best option at a position that isn’t highly prioritized.

Does Jachai Polite deserve more playing time?

His one rush was a promising one and might be enough to earn him some playing time against the Eagles. The fact that the coaching staff trusted him on the Cowboys’ final drive is a slight vote of confidence and a good sign heading into Week 2.

The issue is he has to compete with Ogbonnia Okoronkwo and Samson Ebukam for playing time, as well as maybe Hollins at outside linebacker. But if he keeps showing up, it’ll be hard to keep him off the field.

What is Kenny Young's ceiling?

Well, I don’t expect him to be one of the best linebackers in the league this year or at any point, especially considering his playing time is going to remain limited unless Kiser regresses or gets hurt. However, he’s a decent linebacker who can defend both the run and drop into zones in coverage.

His ceiling is probably a solid No. 2, but nothing more than that. There’s a reason he didn’t play at all for the Rams last season and was benched by the Ravens before then.

Kupp receiving punts?

I was surprised by McVay’s decision to put Cooper Kupp on punt returns. I would think it’d be better to keep him out of harm’s way, but the coach clearly values getting the ball in Kupp’s hands.

We’ll see how many chances Kupp actually gets to return a punt, but I’d expect a lot of fair catches. Nsimba Webster is the more electric athlete, but Kupp has better hands.

Plan for Rapp with Fuller starting?

Rapp should get plenty of opportunities to play inside the box this weekend against the Eagles with their heavy usage of tight ends. I was surprised by Rapp only getting 15 snaps against Dallas, but he’s too good to keep on the sideline as much as he was in Week 1.

Perhaps he’s still getting up to speed on defense after missing time with a knee injury, which should afford him more chances as the season goes on.
