There are some wide receivers widely available that either have good matchups heading into Week 3 or had successful Week 2 performances with more work than usual. With that in mind, here are four WRs with under 50% ownership at traditional fantasy leagues that owners can consider picking up in their leagues.
Gage logged nine receptions for 112 yards in Week 1 and followed that up by catching 6-of-9 targets for 46 yards and a score in Week 2. The slot receiver is a key component in Atlanta’s pass-oriented offense and ranks eighth in the NFL in total targets with 21. It appears like he could be a flex play with a high floor at the very least this year. He can be a difference maker despite competing with Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley.
Jackson hasn’t had a big game yet, and a lot of that has to do with Carson Wentz’ struggles throwing the ball. Jackson still possesses elite speed and will move from being matched up against Jalen Ramsey to facing the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3. Jackson could be set up for a monster performance against an underwhelming secondary.
Deep League Pickups
Humphries signed a $35 million contract over the offseason for a reason, and he’s proving to be a valuable weapon for Ryan Tannehill. Humphries doesn’t play a ton of snaps, but could become an important part of the Titans’ passing attack if A.J. Brown continues to miss time with a bone bruise. Humphries has caught 11 of the 13 passes thrown his way for 95 yards and a touchdown. He’s worth a flex play in deeper leagues.
Jacksonville has a ton of depth at wide receiver, and Cole has managed to hold his own against Laviska Shenault Jr. and D.J. Chark Jr. He’s tallied 11 receptions for 105 yards and two scores so far, but I’m skeptical that his high level of production is sustainable. His decline has been steep since his rookie year in 2017, but he could prove to be worth a flier in time. I’d stash him to watch how he performs in the coming weeks if you openings caused by injuries.
