The Bills and Colts will meet for their Wild Card matchup on Saturday. While AFC foes, Buffalo (13-3) hasn’t come across Indianapolis (11-5) yet in 2020… and a lot can change for a team in a year.

Before kickoff, make sure you’re all up-to-date on Indy, we’re here help you with that. Bills Wire connected with our friends over at Colts Wire and managing editor Kevin Hickey dished out on all-things Colts below in our Q&A:

If the Colts lose, do you think Philip Rivers is back in 2020?

KH: That’s a big question that even he might not know the answer to. Since he signed, both he and the Colts have said they want multiple years out of this, but really that means two. I think Rivers returning is really dependent on whether he wants to. If he does, that might be the best avenue for the Colts at the position in 2021 because he will give them the best chance to win. If I had to predict, I think Rivers is back for one final season in 2021.

Jonathan Taylor is what will scare the Bills the most, where did his recent improvement come from?

KH: It’s been a combination of things. He’s getting used to the speed of the NFL. The holes in Wisconsin could stay open for days. He only has a fraction of a second to decide before the hole closes in the NFL. But he’s also understanding the blocking schemes more with every week, which has allowed him to play with more confidence. We knew Taylor was a physical specimen, but he has really impressed with how he’s worked through the mental side of the game. That’s what has allowed him to make that leap to earn the AFC Rookie of the Month award .

Rock Ya-Sin won’t go vs. the Bills this week, how big of a loss will that be? Or has TJ Carrie been convincing enough behind him?

KH: It will be a big loss simply because the depth in the secondary isn’t all that strong. Ya-Sin has promise but he gets flagged for being too grabby at the top of routes often while Carrie is a solid depth piece but his play has regressed a bit in recent weeks. If the Colts can they will lean on Xavier Rhodes and Kenny Moore as much as they can but Carrie will be the other boundary corner in nickel packages. He’s been fine but nothing that gives the advantage to the Colts.

Giving up a top pick worked out for the Bills with Stefon Diggs and it appears DeForest Buckner is paying dividends, too. What’s made him such a force this season? The weak point of the Bills’ O-line is in the middle.

KH: He’s just a monster. His blend of size, speed and strength makes him nearly impossible to tackle 1v1. Buckner has incredible burst off the line to go along with immense strength at the point of attack. But then he has an insane swim move that works even when a blocker knows its coming. He’s a defensive tackle who moves like a defensive end. The edge for the Colts has been inconsistent this season so Buckner will have to take advantage of the interior.

Finally, your prediction. Who wins and why?

KH: As much as I’d like to pick the Colts, I think the Bills offense will be too much for the Colts to keep up with. Indy will have their moments on defense, and the game will be closer than the seven-point spread, but Josh Allen and the Bills offense is on a roll right now and that will be enough to get them a win on Saturday. Bills, 29-24.
