The Wholesome Games Direct just wrapped up, featuring over 70 games with cozy, welcoming, pleasant, or just generally wholesome aesthetics. The showcase was an hour-long so the pace was quick, but here's a rundown of everything that was shown, including an Ooblets update, Lake's release date, a lot of new game announcements, first looks, and more:
Bird Problems
A sitcom narrative about an awkward bird named Tweeter Gregory and his friends and neighbors, debuting for the first time at Wholesome Games. Developed by Lithic Entertainment, coming to Steam.
Recolit
A mystery adventure where you explore a dark town by following trails of light, Developed by Image Labo, coming to Steam.
Snacko
A farming game where you play as two "big city kitties" starting a new life. Developed by Bluecurse Studios, coming to Nintendo Switch and Steam in 2022.
Alekon
Alekon is a photography game where you take pictures of silly, fantastical creatures, solve puzzles to get them to do cool and cute poses, play minigames, and do quests to become friends with the creatures you're photographing. It's developed by The Alekon Company, and out now on Steam.
A Little to the Left
Everything is disorganized! Adjust various items into the right spots in this small, relaxing puzzle game. Developed by Max Inferno, out on October 21 on Steam.
Ooblets
Ooblets's 0.8 update is out now, introducing the new area Port Forward, a lovely seaside pier with an arcade. Ooblets is developed by Glumberland and is out now in early access on the Epic Games Store and Xbox.
Spirit Swap
A match-3 puzzle game set in a world of witches, demons, and spirits, with relaxing lo-fi beats. Get together with your friends to throw the pizza party of the year. Behind the Frame
Behind the Frame is a narrative-driven puzzle game with painting and drawing mechanics, and 360-degree panoramic scenes that look like something out of a Ghibli movie. Developed by Silver Lining Studio.
SkateBIRD
The game about skateboarding birds trying their best showed off accessibility features at the Wholesome Games Direct, specifically settings that allow players to reduce the number of button inputs and hand movements they have to do to perform tricks. Coming soon from Glass Bottom Games.
Here Comes Niko
A cozy 3D platformer "for tired people" where you work at Tadpole Incorporated and your boss is a frog. Developed by Frog Vibes, coming to Steam and Switch.
Pekoe
In a town full of cats, you run a cowy tea shop. Learn different tea rituals and tea-making styles. Developed by Kitten Cup Studio.
Lake
Meredith, a hardworking career woman in 1986, takes a two-week break from her stressful life to return to her hometown and deliver mail. Developed by Gamious, Launches September 1 for Steam and Xbox.
Yokai Inn
A slice of life game where you run a little inn and make friends with spirits. Includes farming, fishing, cooking, and crafting. Developed by ShibaPixels.
Mythic Ocean
An adventure game where you try to teach gods to be better, and where your choices shape the fate of the entire universe. Developed by Paralune, coming to PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Steam.
Kokopa's Atlas
On an uncharted planet, you'll explore, chart the world, craft, farm, and build something new. Developed by Hitcents, coming to Steam.
Button City
A narrative adventure about a fox and his friends trying to keep their local arcade from being shut down. Developed by Subliminal, coming Q3 2021 to PS5, Xbox, Steam, and Switch.'
Letters: A Written Adventure
Sarah, a young Swiss girl, writes letters to her pen pal, where you choose the words to express how she views her world. Developed by 5am Games, coming Q4 2021.
Hot Pot for One
It's a cold Christmas night. You're alone in a foreign country. So you decide to cook a hot dish intended for six people. Hot Pot for One is a short experience about being lonely and finding comfort in food. Developed by Rachel Li and Qin Yin, out now on Steam.
Garden Story
A top-down adventure where you play as a little grape named Concord trying to protect and revitalize a struggling community through exploration, crafting and building, making friends, and solving puzzles. Developed by Pictogram, coming to Steam, the Epic Games Store, and Switch this summer.
Tracks of Thought
Taking place on a train, this is an RPG shaped by your personality. Card-based battles help you find common ground with your fellow passengers. Developed by Tidbits Play, has a free demo on Steam now through June 18.
Beasts of Maravilla Island
You're a wildlife photographer, taking photos of creatures you meet across Maravilla Island, analyzing their behaviors, and solving puzzles to learn more about them. Developed by Banana Bird Studios, out today on PC, Switch, and Xbox, coming later to PlayStation 4.
Hoa
A puzzle platformer with hand-painted art taking place in a magical, nature-filled world. Developed by Scrollcat Studio, coming out July 27, 2021 for Xbox, Switch, and PlayStation 4.
We Are OFK
We are OFK is an interactive series surrounding the true story of four friends putting together a pop group. Developed by Team OFK, coming to Steam.
ParaLives
Fans of The Sims will immediately recognize what's going on here with house building and design, but ParaLives focuses on the customization of furniture and home design in a small, open world town. Developed by Alex Massé, coming to Steam.
KeyWe
In KeyWe, two kiwi birds work together in a mail room...except they can't fly and have no hands, so they have to jump, peck, and use the tools in the mailroom to get letters delivered. Developed by Stonewheat & Sons, coming to Steam on August 31.
A Walk With Yiayia
A game about walking around the neighborhood and talking with your grandma after she's had a fall, trying to help her rebuild her confidence. Developed by Trent Garlipp, coming to Steam.
Dordogne
A young woman revisits her childhood memories through puzzles and letters left to her by her grandmother, recording it in her journal. Everything in Dordogne is hand-drawn. Developed by Un Je Ne Sais Quoi, out later this year on Steam and Switch

The first game announcement from Lucid Tales shows a girl finding a frog on board an airship, and bringing it to her school to show to her classmates and teacher.
Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan
The world has been cursed to be totally black and white, but you have the power to recolor it. "Battle" creatures you meet by showing them empathy, learning what their true colors are, and undo the curse. Developed by Manavoid, coming to Steam, PS4, Xbox, and Switch.
Unpacking
A relaxing little game about taking items out of boxes, unpacking houses, and learning about someone's life as they move. Developed by WitchBeam, coming to Steam in Q4 2021.
Soup Pot
A cooking game focused on creativity, with different ingredients, plating styles, and taking place in different traditional kitchens. Not just limited to soup, other options such as grilling are available across 100 different dishes. And there's no fail state -- it's all about experimentation. Developed by Chickon Club, coming in August 2021 to Xbox and Steam.
Cloud Jumper
A game where you control a little flying airship and solve puzzles as you fly around the world. Developed by Hyper Liminal Games, coming to Steam.
Teacup
A narrative adventure, with a focus on exploration and non-linear progression. You play as a little frog trying to find ingredients for a tea party. Developed by SmartoClub.
Moonglow Bay
You play as a rookie fisherman trying to get better at their craft while restoring your local community. A new trailer at the Wholesome Direct showed off the game's friendship mechanics, like giving gifts and getting the signatures of your neighbors in your journal. Developed by Bunnyhug, coming to EGS, Steam, and Xbox Game Pass.
Pupperazzi
A game about taking photos of cute dogs. A new trailer showed off a town called Muttropolis. Developed by Sundae Month, coming to Steam.
Luna's Fishing Garden
A cozy fishing and building game where you grow a garden in an archipelago. Developed by Coldwild Games, coming to Steam.
Witchery Academy
Witchery Academy is a life sim where you play as a wizard apprentice. You'll attend classes, care for a garden, catch bugs, decorate the academy, and bond with a spirit companion animal. Developed by Cubenary, coming to Steam and Switch.
Amber Isle
In a cute town of prehistoric animal villagers, you run a little shop. Customize it and build it out so it has what your dino friends need. Developed by Ambertail.
Woodo
In a world where "time stands still in the happiest moment," place crafted wood pieces, solve puzzles, and fill out a beautiful home. Coming in 2022.
Wytchwood
A top-down crafting adventure game set in a land of gothic fables. Developed by Alien Trap Games, coming to Steam in Q4 2021.
Moonshell Island
A Zelda-like exploration game taking place on an island where you build a community and...fight off giant tomatoes (and maybe some other things too). Developed by Cheekynauts Entertainment, coming to Steam.
Frogsong
A top-down adventure about being small, where you play as a frog and fight off monsters to prove you can be a hero. Developed by Brandon Braun, coming to Steam in 2022.
Loddlenaut
You're on an ocean planet, sent by your job to clean it up. Pick up trash with a little trash pick up gun, recycle it, clean up pollution, and make friends with the local Loddles.
