Nintendo Direct June 2022 - Why June 29 Seems So Likely - Screen Rant

susilangs.blogspot.com

All signs point towards the next Nintendo Direct taking place on June 29, 2022, according to a recent leak. Although Nintendo has not yet officially announced that this year's Nintendo Direct, 2022's Summer Game Fest seems to indicate possible timing, thought the annual Nintendo event usually falls in September. However, the lack of any Nintendo-related news at Summer Game Fest earlier this year may be an indicator that Nintendo Direct will arrive sooner rather than later, bringing with it the biggest Nintendo news of 2022. With the recent lack of Breath of the Wild 2 updates, fans are hopeful that Nintendo's main showcase will finally deliver the Breath of the Wild sequel content they've been waiting for.

Since 2011, the annual Nintendo Direct online presentation has showcased the biggest game and console announcements from the Japanese game company. The biggest game announcements revealed during Nintendo Direct in recent years include Nintendo Switch Sports, a successor to Wii Sports, Splatoon 3, and Animal Crossing: New Horizons' first and last paid DLC, Happy Home Paradise. With E3 2022 canceled and little Nintendo news at Summer Game Fest, all signs point to Nintendo saving their best and biggest announcements for a dedicated Nintendo Direct event.

The first source who has confirmed Nintendo Direct is coming on June 29 is Australian game writer, Santa Monica Studio writer, and gaming industry insider Alanah Pearce. During a livestream on Twitch, Pearce stated that she has been told the next Nintendo Direct will take place on June 29, with the news coming from a source other than Nintendo. After sharing the date of the upcoming presentation with her audience, Pearce added a caveat that she wouldn't reveal any of the Nintendo Direct's content, with a subtle condemnation of those who might do so.

Ahead of Pearce's statement, rumors were already circulating online that a Nintendo Direct was coming in June 2022. A now-deleted Reddit post shared on in r/GamingLeaksAndRumours was met with mixed feelings from commenters, as it appeared to share confidential information about an upcoming game release. The post advised Nintendo Direct was arriving this month, possibly coinciding with the game's launch on June 15. Gaming YouTuber RGT 85 discussed the Reddit post in a recent video, expressing concern over the leaker's apparent disdain towards game developers' non-disclosure agreements. Though the post has since been deleted, the possible Nintendo Direct date leak was shared widely on social media before it was taken down, spreading the news throughout the gaming community.

Amid rumors that a Nintendo Direct would take place during June of this year, respected game writer Alanah Pearce's confirmation adds weight to the previously unconfirmed leaks. It seems likely that the next Nintendo Direct will occur on Wednesday, June 29 as Pearce stated. Hopefully, the upcoming Nintendo Direct date will be officially announced by Nintendo shortly, while remaining immune to game leaks that could spoil the event's big reveals. Legend of Zelda fans remain hopeful that the upcoming Nintendo presentation will feature another glimpse at Breath of the Wild 2possibly even announcing the highly-anticipated BOTW sequel's release date.
