A Nintendo Direct for February 2022 could be in the works. As highlighted in a post on Reddit, known leaker NateTheHate has revealed a tonne of information about what could be planned for the Switch in 2022. The notable leaker outlined these unannounced tidbits of information in a YouTube video which referenced a potential February 2022 Nintendo Direct a number of times.
While there's no guarantee the next Direct could happen next month (it may get pushed back to later this year), Switch fans have found out about some of the announcements that may be in store.
One of the most high-profile unannounced titles for 2022 could be the long-rumoured HD remaster of the Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Nintendo Switch.
It's claimed this compilation could be launching in the second half of this year to mark the 20th anniversary of the original GameCube of the first Metroid Prime game.
Elsewhere, this year could also see a new Fire Emblem game launch that is being made by the same team behind the hit 2019 RPG Fire Emblem Three Houses.
NateTheHate also said Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope may launch in the second half of this year - or could get pushed back to 2023 - while the revival of SEGA light gun classic House of the Dead could be out in March.
Another game that could either launch in 2022 or 2023 is the rumoured new Xenoblade Chronicles game, which allegedly has been delayed internally due to the coronavirus pandemic.
But if you love your JRPGs you may have a few other releases to look forward to in 2022 on the Switch.
It's been claimed the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters - which so far are only available on PCs, Android and iOS phones and tablets - could also launch this year on the Switch.
The Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters are revamped versions of the first six mainline Final Fantasy games - including the revered classic Final Fantasy VI, which many people believe is the best in the series.
Elsewhere, NateTheHate also claimed that Persona 4 Golden could be heading to the Nintendo Switch in 2022 as part of the ongoing Persona 25th Anniversary celebrations.
While the leaker also claimed that Persona 6 might be announced as part of the anniversary festivities, and the new mainline Persona game could be a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
