According to the state's information, 300 Californian families will obtain $500 monthly payments for two years.
The direct payment is a pilot program in Sonoma County and will benefit 305 families struggling with basic needs.
The cities of Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Healdsburg, and several communities worked in a coalition with Sonoma County to launch "The Pathway to Income Equity" program.
How to apply to The Pathway to Income Equity program?
All residents from the coalition cities should visit PathwaySonoma.org, and submit their applications.
There's no ID or verification needed to apply. However, if you win a path to obtain $500, people in charge of The Pathway to Income Equity program will ask for several documents.
You must submit those documents to prove your eligibility. The last day to apply is through midnight on October 31.
Who's eligible for The Pathway to Income Equity program?
Californians must:
- Live in Sonoma County
- Have a household income of up to 185 percent above the federal poverty level dependent on family size (for example, $51,338 or below for a family of four)
- Be pregnant and/or parenting a child under six years old
- Experienced adverse economic impacts due to the Covid-19 pandemic, such as a loss of employment, income, child care, or housing
Sonoma County Board of Supervisors deposited $3 million in May for the pilot programs.
The city of Santa Rosa allocated $1 million in funding, Petaluma granted $636,000 into the program, and Healdsburg deposited $250,000 as their share.
